400Amp 3-Pole Moulded Case Circuit Breaker
400M/3P is a moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB), rated 400 A with 3 poles for distribution boards and generator output protection.
About this part
A moulded case breaker trips on sustained overload and instantly on a short circuit, protecting cables and equipment. On a generator it is the main protection between the alternator and the load.
When to replace it
- Installing a generator output breaker
- Upgrading a distribution board
- A breaker that trips without cause or will not reset
Before you order
Adjustable breakers let the electrician set the trip current to suit the circuit within the breaker's range.
If the old part has no readable number, send us a clear photo with the engine or alternator nameplate and we will identify it before you buy.
Questions
What is the difference between an MCB and an MCCB?
MCBs are small DIN-rail breakers for final circuits up to about 63 A. MCCBs are larger, handle higher currents and fault levels, and often have adjustable trip settings.
