KMP Bottom Gasket Kit KRP1657
Use the KMP Brand KRP1657 bottom gasket kit when the engine is back together and every joint has to stay dry.
About this part
A leaking joint on a generator engine is more than mess: oil on a hot manifold is a fire risk, and a slow coolant leak shows up as an overheating shutdown at the worst possible time.
When to replace it
- Oil or coolant weeping from a joint
- Low oil level between services with no smoke
- Hardened, cracked or flattened old seals
- Any repair that opens the joint
Before you order
Clean both faces back to bare metal, avoid sealant unless the engine maker calls for it, and tighten covers evenly so the gasket is not crushed on one side.
If the old part has no readable number, send us a clear photo with the engine or alternator nameplate and we will identify it before you buy.
Questions
What is the difference between a top and a bottom gasket set?
A top set covers the joints above the block deck: head, manifolds and covers. A bottom set covers the sump, timing case and crankshaft seals.
