KRP1718 is a KMP Brand water pump for diesel engine cooling and lubrication systems.
About this part
Cooling parts tend to fail gradually: a weeping pump seal, a sticking thermostat or a slipping belt. Catching them at a service is far cheaper than an overheated engine.
When to replace it
- Coolant weeping from the pump weep hole
- Engine running hot or cold, or slow to warm up
- Belt squeal or a tensioner that bounces
- Oil and coolant mixing (oil cooler failure)
Before you order
Flush the cooling system and refill with the correct coolant mix when replacing cooling parts, and check hoses and clamps while you are there.

Can I use plain water in the cooling system?
No. Coolant protects against corrosion and raises the boiling point. Use the mix the engine maker specifies.
