R220GP is an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) for generator alternators for Leroy-Somer alternators (alternative part).
About this part
An AVR senses the alternator's output voltage and adjusts the current in the exciter field many times a second to hold it at the set point. Without it, voltage swings with every change in load and can damage connected equipment.

- Voltage supply / sensing range of 85 to 139 Volts at 50 or 60 Hertz
- Power supply protected by 8 Amp fuse
- Potentiometer for adjustment of voltage settings
- Potentiometer for stability settings
When to replace it
- Output voltage that is too high, too low or unstable
- No output voltage although the engine runs normally
- Lights flickering or voltage dipping as loads switch on
- A burnt or damaged board after a lightning strike or short
