Description

This is a compact automatic voltage regulator. It is supplied in a casing which is designed to be mounted on a panel with dampers. The automatic voltage regulator is a device designed to regulate voltage automatically in other words it takes a fluctuating voltage level and turns it into a constant voltage level.  The feedback control system measures the output voltage of the generator or alternator and compares it with a set point. When there is a difference between the voltages it sends a signal to adjust the excitation current of the generator which in turn increases the terminal voltage. The automatic voltage regulator controls current through power electronic devices.

The maximum power supply is 150 volts at 50 or 60 Hertz with a rated overload current of 10 Amps for 10 seconds. It has electronic protection to reduce the current in case of a short circuit or over excitation. There are four potentiometers for adjustment of the voltage, quadrature droop, stability and excitation limitation. It has LEDs which light up red or green to indicate correct operational parameters or faults in operation. This makes it easy to see at a glance whether the unit is functioning correctly. It has simple rotating switch selection which is well marked and easy to read. These are used for selecting almost all adjustments necessary to set the unit to your individual needs. A Load Acceptance Module is integrated in the AVR.
