RSK2001GP Rectifier Assembly Base
RSK2001GP is a rectifier assembly base for the rotating rectifier in brushless generator alternators.
About this part
One failed diode is enough to make an alternator run hot, lose voltage or overwork the AVR, so the rotating rectifier is checked whenever voltage problems appear.
When to replace it
- Low output voltage with the AVR at full excitation
- AVR failing repeatedly
- A shorted or open diode found on testing
- Burnt varistor after a surge
Before you order
Test every diode in the bridge, not only the obviously damaged one, and replace the varistor at the same time.
Match the number stamped on the part you are removing, or the number in your engine or alternator manual, before ordering. Part numbers are shown for reference so the right replacement can be identified.
Questions
How do I test a rotating diode?
Disconnect it and check it with a multimeter on diode test: it should conduct in one direction only. Replace any that read short or open both ways.
