About this part
The rotating and reciprocating parts take the highest loads in the engine. When an engine is rebuilt they are measured, and anything outside tolerance is replaced rather than reused.

- Crankcase blow-by and oil mist from the breather
- High oil consumption with blue exhaust smoke
- Low or uneven compression readings
- Scored pistons or bores found on strip-down

Check the bore size before ordering: oversize pistons and rings are for a bore that has been machined, standard (STD) sizes for an original bore.
