KMP Housing C/W Thermostat T413847
Part T413847: a KMP Brand housing c/w thermostat for engines that have to run long hours without overheating.
About this part
A generator engine can run at full load for hours in a hot enclosure. The water pump, thermostat, oil cooler and belt drive keep heat moving out of the engine, and a single failed part leads to an overheating shutdown.
When to replace it
- Coolant weeping from the pump weep hole
- Engine running hot or cold, or slow to warm up
- Belt squeal or a tensioner that bounces
- Oil and coolant mixing (oil cooler failure)
Before you order
Replace the belt when you replace a tensioner; an old belt on a new tensioner wears out quickly.
Match the number stamped on the part you are removing, or the number in your engine or alternator manual, before ordering. Part numbers are shown for reference so the right replacement can be identified.
Questions
Can I use plain water in the cooling system?
No. Coolant protects against corrosion and raises the boiling point. Use the mix the engine maker specifies.
