KMP Big-End Bearing Set U5ME0012A (0.010" undersize)
Rebuilding the bottom end? U5ME0012A is the KMP Brand con-rod bearing set, packed as a full engine set so every journal gets matching shells. This set is 0.010" undersize.
About this part
Every power stroke is transferred from the connecting rod to the crank through these shells. They are a wear part by design: softer than the crank so that the shells, not the crankshaft, take the damage when lubrication is poor.
When to replace it
- A deep knock under load that rises with engine speed
- Low oil pressure when the engine is hot
- Scored or polished shells found during an inspection
- Any crankshaft regrind or bottom-end overhaul
Before you order
Measure the crank journals before ordering. Standard shells suit an unground crank; undersize sets (marked 0.010" / 0.25 mm and up) are for a crank that has been reground by that amount.
Match the number stamped on the part you are removing, or the number in your engine or alternator manual, before ordering. Part numbers are shown for reference so the right replacement can be identified.
Questions
Is this a complete engine set?
Bearing sets are packed per engine. Check the quantity against the number of cylinders when the set arrives, and call us if anything is missing.
Should I replace main bearings at the same time?
If the engine is apart for a big-end failure, the mains have usually seen the same oil starvation. Most rebuilders do both.
