About this part
An automatic changeover switch turns a generator into true standby power. It is sized by current (amps) and number of poles: 4-pole switches also switch the neutral, which many installations require.

Before you order
Size the switch to the main breaker of the supply it switches, and choose 3-pole or 4-pole according to how the neutral is arranged at your installation. Changeover switches must be installed by a qualified electrician who issues a certificate of compliance.

A 4-pole switch switches the neutral as well as the three phases. Your electrician will choose based on the earthing arrangement and local regulations.
Can I fit it myself?
No. Changeover switches connect to the mains supply and must be installed by a registered electrician.
