YGLZ-250 4-POLE 250Amp Manual Transfer Switch
The YGLZ-250 4-POLE 250Amp Manual Transfer Switch lets you move your load between the mains and a generator by hand, with the two supplies mechanically kept apart., rated 250 A with 4 poles
About this part
A manual changeover switch has three positions: mains, off and generator. Because the switch can only be in one position, the generator can never feed back into the grid, which protects line workers and the generator.
When to replace it
- Connecting a portable or standby generator to a building
- Replacing a worn switch
- Increasing the current rating
Before you order
Choose the current rating to suit the incoming supply and 3 or 4 poles according to the neutral arrangement. Installation must be done by a qualified electrician.
Not sure it is the right one? A photo of the old part and the nameplate of the machine it came off is usually all the counter needs to confirm a match.
Questions
Do I need a changeover switch to connect a generator?
Yes. Connecting a generator to a building without one is illegal and dangerous, because it can back-feed the grid.
