A manual transfer switch transfers the electrical supply from the main source to the generator in the event of a mains power failure. Our manual transfer switches provide a secure connection between your generator and your building’s main power. As such, it enables you to switch your building’s main circuits – this you do by manually turning on the switch – between the main power supply and your generator.
With a manual transfer switch the generator needs to be switched on and running correctly before the transfer is made. When the mains power is restored, the generator can be switched off and the power routed back to the mains supply.

- YGLZ-400 3-POLE 400AMP Manual Transfer Switch – a high quality, Chinese manufactured unit, it is suitable for the shift of two-way power and provides safe isolation. The YGLZ series meets the IEC60947-3 and GB14048.3 standards. As it is small and compact, it is easy to install. Furthermore, it is an affordable option, providing excellent value for money.
- YGLZ1-400 4-POLE 400AMP Manual Transfer Switch – made from the highest quality materials, it is durable and strong. Installation is straightforward. It is easy to use and requires little to no maintenance.
A 3-pole switch has three hot wires coming into it for three phase. In addition, it also has a solid neutral design – the main power supply, generator and building neutral are permanently connected. A 4-pole switch has the same, but with an additional pole for the neutral. A switched neutral will only allow the utility or the generator neutral to be connected to the building at a time.
Benefits of 3 and 4 Pole 400 AMP Manual Transfer Switch
These require a user to physically turn it on and off as required. This makes it ideal for a business that only needs power during working hours. A running generator during out of business hours is a waste of fuel. Thus, a manual transfer switch provides the user with more overall control. A manual transfer switch is also a more affordable option. As it is cheaper to design, manufacture and install, its overall costs are low.
