KMP Temperature Sensor KRP1688
The KMP Temperature Sensor KRP1688 is supplied under part number KRP1688 for engines where the electrics have to work first time, every time.
About this part
A generator controller only knows what its sensors tell it. A faulty oil pressure or temperature sender can stop a healthy engine, or worse, let a damaged one keep running.
When to replace it
- Slow cranking or a starter that clicks without turning
- Battery not charging while the engine runs
- False low-oil or high-temperature shutdowns
- Hard cold starts on engines with glow plugs
Before you order
Check the voltage (12 V or 24 V) and the connector style against the part you are replacing, and test the battery and cabling before blaming a new starter.
Not sure it is the right one? A photo of the old part and the nameplate of the machine it came off is usually all the counter needs to confirm a match.
Questions
How do I know if it is 12 V or 24 V?
Check the battery bank and the rating plate on the old part. Most small and medium sets run 12 V; larger engines often run 24 V.
