TCD8.0 G-Drive Engine – Prime Output 250KVA
The TCD8.0 G-Drive Engine – Prime Output 250KVA is a diesel engine built for driving a generator with a prime output of 250 kVA.
About this part
A G-Drive (generator drive) engine runs at a fixed speed, 1500 rpm for 50 Hz, and is set up for the sudden load steps a generator sees. Prime power is the output it can deliver continuously with varying load; standby power is the higher rating for emergency use only.
When to replace it
- Building a new generating set
- Repowering a set with a worn-out engine
- Moving to a larger or smaller output
Before you order
Work from the prime rating, not the standby rating, when sizing for daily use. Larger engines are supplied to order, so send us your requirements and we will quote with lead time.
Not sure it is the right one? A photo of the old part and the nameplate of the machine it came off is usually all the counter needs to confirm a match.
Questions
What is the difference between prime and standby power?
Prime power is the rating for running with a varying load for unlimited hours. Standby power is a higher rating for emergency use when the mains fails, with limited hours per year.
