Description
An automatic transfer switch is an electrical device that switches a load between two sources as soon as it senses a loss of power. These units are particularly useful on backup generators as they will start up as soon as the main power source fails. The automatic transfer switch can also start a backup generator if it senses voltage fluctuations. It will automatically disconnect the main power supply when the generator switches on. When the power comes back on the automatic transfer switch will turn the generator back off. Some transfer switches can prioritise certain circuits that are essential and route the power to them only. The switch can be set by the user to comfortable cover all their requirements.
Features of the YES1-GP 250AMP 4-POLE Automatic Changeover Switch
An easy to use mechanical slide interlock ensures that only one source is powering the emergency circuits and prevents duplication of energy sources. The manual transfer switch can be installed indoors or outdoors with the appropriate environmental rating. When properly installed the transfer switch provides an easy means for transferring power to an alternate source. It includes features such as short circuit protection and phase rotation protection. The frequency is either 50 or 60 Hertz and is adjustable by the user.
Benefits of using the YES1-GP 250AMP 4-POLE Automatic Changeover Switch
The unit is compact and well made. You will never have a situation where you are without power and no matter whether you are on site or off the ATS will make sure you have power to all your necessary machinery at all times. When the power supply fluctuates it can switch the generator on and off with only a short cool down period. The transfer switch isolates the generator from mains power when the generator is on. This is to ensure that there is no feedback into the mains line.
